Binnen de 20e-eeuwse Nederlandse zilverkunst is Jan Postmus (J. Postmus) een naam die het hart van menig verzamelaar sneller doet kloppen. Deze getalenteerde ambachtsman was actief tussen 1899 en 1955 en werkte verspreid over Amsterdam, Alphen aan den Rijn en de historische West-Friese zilverstad Hoorn.
