This beautiful antique silver miniature of a traditional windmill is a magnificent addition. The object was crafted between 1906 and 1924 with extraordinary craftsmanship by the famous Schoonhoven silver factory H. Hooijkaas.

The windmill is detailed with an impressive eye for craftsmanship. The tapering body features a refined vertical line structure that beautifully mimics authentic wooden or thatched cladding. The miniature features smoothly rotating sails and a movable top (cap) that is crowned with a gracefully fluttering silver weather vane. At the rear is the tail with a finely linked silver chain connected to the base plate. The mill stands stably on a beautiful round pedestal decorated with a finely worked relief pattern and a stylized brick structure along the edge.

This collectible piece is excellently and clearly hallmarked in two strategic places:
  • On the flat underside is the razor-sharp maker's mark HH of the firm H. Hooijkaas.
  • On the slanted edge of the decorated base, the official Dutch "zwaardje" (small sword) (the tax mark for small silver objects, .835 silver) is clearly struck.
With a delicate weight of 6.1 grams, this is an extremely elegant and refined piece of small silver. An absolute treasure for the connoisseur of fine antique dollhouse silver or Dutch miniature silver!
