Are you looking for a classic and refined quintessential Dutch masterpiece for your silver collection?
This beautiful antique silver miniature of a traditional windmill is a splendid addition. The object was crafted between 1906 and 1924 with extraordinary craftsmanship by the world-renowned Schoonhoven silver factory H. Hooijkaas.
The windmill is meticulously detailed. The tapered body features a refined vertical line structure that beautifully replicates authentic wooden or thatched cladding. The miniature boasts smoothly rotating sails and a movable cap (bovenzetting) crowned with an elegantly fluttering silver weather vane. At the rear, there is the tail with a finely linked silver chain connected to the base plate. The windmill stands stably on a beautifully round pedestal adorned with a finely crafted relief pattern and a stylized brick structure along the edge.
This collectible piece is excellently and clearly hallmarked in two strategic places:
  • On the flat bottom, there is the razor-sharp maker's mark HH of the H. Hooijkaas company.
  • On the slanted edge of the decorated base, the official Dutch sword mark (the tax mark for small silver items, .835 silver) is clearly stamped.
With a delicate weight of 6.1 grams, this is an extremely elegant and refined small silver cabinet piece. An absolute asset for the connoisseur of fine antique dollhouse silver or Dutch miniature silver!
