Silver salt cellar with blue glass liner, made by Levi & Salaman from Birmingham in 1900.

The company was founded in 1870 in Birmingham and was known for the very high quality of its silver miniatures and souvenir items. Especially during the Edwardian period (1901–1910), they excelled in tableware and the production of silver pincushions in the shape of animals (such as hedgehogs, pigs, and swans). In 1921, the company merged with Barker Brothers.

The salt cellar is beautifully decorated with scroll motifs.

Hallmarked with maker's mark L & S, city mark anchor for Birmingham, fineness mark, and date letter 'a' for 1900.

The salt cellar is in good condition.

Weight: 50.3 grams. Silver weight: 18.9 grams. Dimensions: 3 x 4 x 5.4 cm.
