Rare silver fork from the silversmith L. Potmans (De Bree, 441) from Middelburg. Made in 1774. Silver from Middelburg is no longer common due to the large compulsory surrender campaign during the Batavian Republic (1795).
The fork (especially the tines) are in a used condition. See also the photos. The hallmarks are beautifully sharp, especially the master hallmark is extremely sharp. Inspected with the city hallmark of Middelburg including year letter, master hallmark and tax hallmark.
