Rare silver fork by silversmith L. Potmans (De Bree, 441) from Middelburg. Made in 1772. Silver from Middelburg is rarer due to the large-scale compulsory collection campaign during the Batavian Republic (1795).
The fork (especially the tines) is in used condition. See the photos for details.
The hallmarks are beautifully sharp, especially the master hallmark. Hallmarked with the Middelburg city hallmark, including the date letter, master hallmark, and tax hallmark.
