Rare silver fork by silversmith L. Potmans (De Bree, 441) from Middelburg. Made in 1772. Silver from Middelburg is not very common anymore due to the large mandatory collection action during the Batavian Republic (1795)
The fork (especially the tines) have a used condition. See also the photos. The hallmarks are nicely sharp, especially the master hallmark is exceptionally sharp. Hallmarked with city hallmark of Middelburg including year letter, master hallmark and tax hallmark.
