Silver fork, A. Janse, Middelburg, 1791

Silver fork by the silversmith Anthonie Janse (De Bree, 256) from Middelburg.

In 1766 he appeared in the pupil's book as an apprentice of Johannes D'Hoy. He died in 1823.

Marked with the city mark of Middelburg including the year letter T of 1791 and master mark A Anchor I.

Silver from Middelburg is no longer common due to the large compulsory surrender campaign during the Batavian Republic (1795)

The fork (especially the tines) are in used condition.
