Frisian silver occasional spoon made by the silversmith Johannes Lases Spannenburgh from Harlingen. (Foot 455/456) Born in 1722 and died in 1785. Master from 1746.
He was an apprentice to Hotse Seerps Swerms (Voet 247)
Approved with master mark JC in oval.
The spoon has a shield-shaped crowning with putti around a crowned cartouche with a female figure underneath with her hand against the side of her head.
Engraved on the back of the stem end with the initials DE and the year 1747.
The spoon is in excellent condition, with the gold gilding faded in some places.
Weight: 43.5 grams. Length: 17.5 cm.
