Silver tea strainer, HA van der Put, Alkmaar, ca. 1850

Silver tea strainer made by the silversmith Hendrikus Adrianus van der Put from Alkmaar. He was active from 1832 to 1862.

The tea strainer could be placed on the end of a teapot. This was used to filter out the leaves.

The tea strainer has a handle and is marked with the master hallmark H anchor P and the sword for 2nd grade silver.
