This beautiful antique silver tea caddy spoon (or tea scoop) stands out with its sleek, elegant design featuring a timeless double fillet edge. The spoon was crafted in 1864 by the Netherlands' most renowned silver producer and is in excellent condition.
The maker of this solid and refined piece of cutlery is the famous royal silver factory J.M. van Kempen & Zonen from Voorschoten. This object dates from 1864 and, with a weight of no less than 23.6 grams, is a very sturdy and high-quality example of craftsmanship from the early Voorschoten period.

The tea caddy spoon is clearly and completely hallmarked with the official Dutch marks:
  • Maker's mark: Recumbent crescent moon with lateral points above VK in a square (J.M. van Kempen, Voorschoten)
  • Fineness: Second standard lion (833/1000 silver)
  • Assay Office mark: Minerva head with the letter 'c' for The Hague
  • Year letter: 'e' for the year 1864
