Silver bag bracket, W. Edeling / Schoonhoven, 19th century.

Cast silver bag bracket with the central image of the golden calf that the people of Israel made in the desert.

Recognizable are the high priest collecting gold, celebration around the golden calf and Moses smashing the stone tablets after he sees the sin of the people.

The bracket has been marked with the second grade mark, minerva head and a difficult to read master mark. I think I recognize WE. This could stand for W. Edeling from Schoonhoven, active from 1896 to 1924.
