Silver purse bracket (parrots), G. Lazonder Schoonhoven, 1797

Large and heavy silver purse handle with the image of parrots. That is why it is popularly called a parrot handle.

This bracket must have belonged to a wealthy person, the size of the bracket determines the status of the owner. With a size of 21.5 x 35 cm this bag bracket was certainly seen.

The bracket was made by silversmith Gerrit Lazonder from Schoonhoven. He was a master from 1796 to 1811.

The bracket is hallmarked with the master hammer, city hallmark of Schoonhoven and date letter D for 1797.

The bag bracket is in excellent condition.
