Silver bag bracket, J. Rienstra / Sneek, 18th century.

^18th century Frisian bow bag with bag hook from the silversmith Jan Rienstra from Sneek. (Foot 551) This silversmith was a master in 1771. He worked as a silversmith for about 30 years.

The silver bracket features all 4 evangelists: Matthew (with angel figure), Mark (with lion), Luke (with ox) and John (with eagle). The bag hook depicts Moses with the stone tablets.

The silk (?) bag was added later and is therefore still in good condition.

The silver bracket has an extra silver bracket (with putti) on the inside, creating extra storage space.

The initials MT and the year 1802 are on the back of the bracket.
