18th- century silver purse made by Jacob Jans Boltjes (Voet 501) from Leeuwarden. This silversmith worked from 1760 to 1783.

The silver clasp features a passionate biblical scene depicting shepherds visiting the baby Jesus. On the right is a figure with a cow, and on the left is a figure holding a basket. The evangelist Luke (depicted with an ox) is depicted on the clasp's knob.

The smooth back is engraved with the maker's mark JB and the initials JWV. A silver jasseron chain is attached to the clasp.

The bead bag is in used condition.
