Silver purse handle with carrying chain. The purse handle depicts the Biblical parable of the prodigal son. He asks for his father's inheritance, leaves for a distant country, where he spends a party. He arrives penniless at the pigs, returns home and asks his father for forgiveness.
The silver bracket is hallmarked with the second grade hallmark, year letter I for 1918, Minerva head and master hallmark HH for Silver Factory H. Hooykaas from Schoonhoven, active from 1906 to 1924.
