Heavy silver table or dustpan made by the Zaanse Zilversmederij (formerly Fam. Schoorl) from Amsterdam / Zaandijk. Active from 1920 to 1990.
The silver tin depicts the sea battle at Terheide on August 10, 1653 during the first English war. The battle between the 'Brederode', the flagship of Maarten Hermensz Tromp, and the English flagship 'Resolution' commanded by Admiral Monk.
The original painting was painted by Jan Abrahamsz. Beerstraten. Dating: 1653 – 1666.
The silver tin is marked with the second quality mark, minerva head, master mark z hammer z and year letter j for 1944.
