Frisian silver sugar table with an oval contoured top made by an unknown silversmith. Most sugar tables were produced in Sneek. In the 19th century, various sugar tables were made for export based on the examples from the 18th century. This may also be the case with this sugar table.
The table is provided with curl motifs with a bird on the inside. The table top is hinged on a hollow cylinder, see also the photos. Curled legs with c volutes are attached under the cylinder.
The sugar table is marked with an unknown master mark and a French import mark (snout beetle) which was used between 1864 and 1893.
Weight: 127.6 grams. Dimensions: 11.5 x 13.5 x 8.5 cm.
