Silver pincushion holder made by the silversmith R. de Jong from Lemmer. He was active from 1812 to 1829.
The pincushion holder is provided with a female figure on each side. These women are depicted with a staff. The staff isthe symbol for the earthly pilgrimage.
The silver is hallmarked with the master mark RI under a swan and the hallmark for small silver works from the French period (1809-1815).
