Silver soup spoon, J. van Wijk Jzn, Amsterdam, 1849

Dutch silver soup spoon made by the silversmith J. van Wijk Jzn from Amsterdam, active from 1846 to 1875.

The stem is decorated in the characteristic Biedermeier style.

Hallmarked with master mark JvW under a fish, second fineness mark, Minerva head and date letter P for 1849.

The soup spoon bowl is quite large, measuring 9 x 10.3 cm.

The spoon is in beautiful condition.
