Large silver soup ladle made by the silversmith J.H. Eversbag from Amsterdam. Active from 1840 to 1873.

The soup ladle has reeded edges.

The ladle is hallmarked with the maker's mark anchor IE, a Minerva head, the first-grade hallmark and the year letter S for 1852. Finally, the retailer's mark of Benten & Zonen is stamped.

Benten & Zonen in Amsterdam was the continuation of the company originally founded by
cashier and goldsmith Johannes Wouterus Benten in 1806 in Amsterdam. The company was acquired in 1863 by Ferdinand August Hoeker, who continued the cashier's business under the name Benten & Zonen until 1883.

The spoon is in good condition.
