Silver snuff box, JG Zack / Jever / Germany, 19th century

Silver snuff box from the silversmith Johann Gottfried Zack from Jever, (Ostfriesland, Germany).

This silversmith was born in 1778 and died in 1827.

The silver box is marked with the city hallmark (kan) for Jever, 10 as content hallmark (833/1000) and the year letter c for 1810. Finally with the master hallmark IGZ.

It is a rare box. Silver from this time (very turbulent with a lot of political tension) is rarely offered from Jever.

The box is gilded on the inside. The initials BF are engraved on the bottom.
