Vintage silver cigarette box including 2 old cigarettes.

The box is marked 925 for 1st grade silver and master hallmark ASST

The two cigarettes come from Egypt and are from the brand A. Broches & Co.

Broches&Company was a Jewish smoke shop in Amsterdam at Prinsengracht 13-15. Abraham Broches was the director and was born in Belarus (Belarus). The company began selling smoking products in 1925 and ceased operations in 1940. The Broches family was deported and largely gassed in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Only son Aron survived Auschwitz and became vice president of the World Bank. Thus, the cigarettes are of Jewish heritage.
