18th century silver cream spoon crowned with a putti figure. Originating from Dokkum, made by the silversmith Jippe Klases Smedema (Foot 385) given the master hallmark with the hammer. This blacksmith worked from 1781 to 1790.
The stem depicts a female figure with a stick and a book, which represents trust. The stick was a symbol of the earthly pilgrimage and the book represents wisdom.
The cream spoon has been marked with the master's mark. There is a stipple engraving of DJ on the back of the stem
