Marked on the head of the handle with a shell (master's mark of C. Coutrier) and the city mark of Amsterdam.
The blade of the knife is hallmarked with the Gouda hallmark (a bird above a star). The star is the mark of the Gouda knife makers, based on the Gouda coat of arms and motto. The last knife maker in Gouda closed in 1752.
The handle is decorated with a band of rabbits and swans.
