Are you looking for a refined piece of Dutch table silver of absolute top quality? This beautiful antique silver olive spoon (historically also called a wet fruit spoon) is an ornament for any set table. Crafted by the most prestigious silver factory the Netherlands has known, this is a beautiful collector's item and a stylish utensil.
The spoon was made by the Royal Dutch Factory of Gold and Silver Works Fa. J.M. van Kempen & Zonen in Voorschoten.
The design is timeless and elegant: the bowl of the spoon features an elegant, symmetrically openwork ajour pattern with cut-out hearts, circles, and stylized curls. This motif is not only decorative but also functionally designed to stylishly serve olives, cherries, or wet fruit while the moisture or oil drains directly. The base of the handle shows a pristine, double-sided beaded edge that testifies to the royal quality characteristic of top manufacturers such as Fa. J.M. van Kempen & Zonen.
This authentic piece of silverware is fully assayed and marked with the following legal hallmarks:
  • Maker's Mark: V an K next to a recumbent crescent moon in a square (Fa. J.M. van Kempen & Zonen, Voorschoten)
  • Fineness Mark: Dutch Sword (used after 1905 for small silver items of the second standard, 833/1000)
