For collectors of traditional Dutch small silver, we offer this beautiful, antique silver miniature of a Dutch windmill.
This refined miniature was handmade around the turn of the century (approx. 1900) by the famous silversmith Jan Verhoogt from Hoorn (active between 1894 and 1936).
The mill is very detailed with a textured body, windows, a rear tail pole with chain and a waving silver flag on the cap. The characteristic blades are movable and can rotate smoothly. The whole stands on a beautifully curved, round base that rests on three subtle ball feet.
The object is in excellent, completely original antique condition.
Clearly marked on the edge with Dutch silver hallmarks:
  • Maker's mark: JV with hammer (Jan Verhoogt, Hoorn)
  • Purity mark: The old silver mark 'zwaardje' (sword, used until 1906 for small silverworks)
Specifications:
