Silver miniature kettle, P. van Somerwil I, Amsterdam, 1736

Rare 18th-century silver miniature kettle, made by the Amsterdam silversmith Pieter van Somerwil I. Van Somerwil was active between 1706 and 1753 and was known as a small-worker, specializing in so-called doll's house items: finely crafted silver miniatures.

This finely crafted miniature bears the maker's mark tree of Pieter van Somerwil I, as well as the city mark of Amsterdam. The miniature also features the year letter B for 1736.

The object is a beautiful example of Dutch silver from the early 18th century and very suitable for collectors of antique silver, miniatures, doll's house items, or Dutch silverware.
