Rare 18th-century silver miniature pig on a ladder, made by the Amsterdam silversmith Willem van Strant. Van Strant was active between 1727 and 1742 and was known as a "kleinwerker" (maker of small items), specializing in so-called "poppengoed": finely crafted silver miniatures.

This finely crafted miniature bears the maker's mark VS as well as the city mark of Amsterdam. The miniature also features the year letter x for 1732 and the crowned O.

The object is a beautiful example of Dutch silver from the early 18th century and is highly suitable for collectors of antique silver, miniatures, "poppengoed," or Dutch silverwork.
