Rare 18th-century silver miniature pig on a ladder, made by the Amsterdam silversmith Pieter van Somerwil I. Van Somerwil was active between 1706 and 1753 and was known as a small-worker, specializing in so-called "doll's goods": finely crafted silver miniatures.

This finely crafted miniature bears the maker's mark of a tree by Pieter van Somerwil I, as well as the city mark of Amsterdam. The miniature also features an engraved trembling stitch.

The object is a beautiful example of Dutch silver from the early 18th century and highly suitable for collectors of antique silver, miniatures, doll's goods, or Dutch silverware.
