Silver miniature of a town crier with child and dog, made by silversmith A.F. Westerwaal from Amsterdam. He was active from 1900-1921.

Westerwaal was known for his detailed silver dollhouse miniatures and miniatures of everyday objects, vehicles, and furniture (such as high chairs, dog carts, coaches, and birdcages).

A town crier (also called a bellman) in historical attire (tricorn hat and long coat) ringing a large crier's bell with his outstretched right arm. A large basin or bowl hangs from his left arm (sometimes used to make extra noise or collect money). At his feet, a child wearing a hat and a small dog stand on an engraved base plate.

The miniature is marked with the maker's mark A3W and the sword mark for at least 2nd grade silver.

The miniature is in good condition.
