Are you a lover of historic Frisian small silver and antique miniatures with a story?
This refined silver miniature of a yoke bearer is a magnificent example of nineteenth-century silversmithing from Sneek.
This detailed object was crafted by the renowned Frisian silversmith duo J.S. Zwanenburg & Zn from Sneek, active during the flourishing period between 1864 and 1900. The figurine depicts a man walking with a yoke over his shoulders, a beautiful and nostalgic scene captured in solid silver.
The miniature is officially hallmarked with the Dutch 'zwaardje' (small sword) (for at least 2nd grade silver) and bears the rare, early maker's mark JZ222. With its substantial weight of over 22 grams, this is a showpiece for the serious collector of antique Dutch silver.
