18th century cast knife handle with a lion holding a shield. The year is engraved on the shield: 179?.
The knife handle is heavy and solid and in excellent condition. The knife handle is marked with the wild boar head, which was used in the Netherlands between 1831-1893 to mark foreign silver. The knife could come from France, but with an English blade, England could also be an option.
The steel blade is marked with Thornhill / London and is original.
