Silver basket from a brandy bowl, T. Brongers, Winschoten, 1750

Silver basket with handle made from a Groningen brandy bowl. The bowl was possibly made by Tonnis Brongers from Winschoten, active from 1740.

It concerns an eight-lobed, typical Groningen model brandy bowl placed on an also eight-lobed foot. The bowl is engraved with the initials of the bridal couple (?) HJB, GKG. The year 1858 is engraved on the other side of the bowl.

The bowl is hallmarked with master hallmark TB, probably for Tonnis Brongers. Next to it the number 14 and the year 1750 with GH in front.
