Silver loderein box, DH Greup, Schoonhoven, ca. 1840

Silver loderein box made by the silversmith DH Greup Schoonhoven. He was active from 1834.

A loderein box was used to store a sponge with a nice scent. So that a lady could freshen up every now and then.

Marked with master mark G144, second fineness mark and Minerva head.

1 Silver ring has been replaced on the side by a copper ring.

Weight: 16.5 grams. Dimensions: 3 x 3 x 4 cm.
