Silver spoon with accolade-shaped stem end, made by Willem Scholten from Deventer. He was active from 1776 to 1809.
Willem Scholten was born in 1738 and had no. 33 on the guild plate in Deventer. Married Catharina Adriana Hallegraaf in 1780.
The spoon has an applied profiled needle as a connection between the bowl and the handle.
Approved with master mark WS, city mark Deventer and date letter 4G for 1779.
The initials JWB are engraved on the back of the stem.
A similar spoon is in the collection of the Historical Museum De Waag in Deventer.
