Silver tablespoon, made by the silversmith Johan Diederik Sluyter from Amsterdam. He was active from 1720 to 1761.

Johan Diederik Sluyter was a spoon maker, specializing in cutlery. From 1705 to 1711, he was an apprentice to the silversmith Jorgen Henrich Schlade in Munster.

He lived and worked from the Hoogstraat in Amsterdam.

The spoon is marked with the first assay mark, Amsterdam city mark, year letter D for 1738, and the maker's mark IDS with a key.

The spoon features Amsterdam rococo decoration.

In good condition.
