Silver lump tongs, Wed. B. Gillis / 's Hertogenbosch, 19th century

Antique silver lump or sugar tongs made by the widow of Bernardus Gillis from 's Hertogenbosch. After the death of Bernardus Gillis, this hallmark was only used by his widow for 1 year. From 1833 to 1834. The normal mark is BG above a bell, but here there is still a sc above it.

Furthermore, the lump tongs are marked with the year letter E for 1839 (tongs were therefore marked later), minerva head and second quality mark.
