This two-piece serving set, consisting of a ginger fork and a ginger spoon, is crafted in a richly decorated Biedermeier style with refined floral, leaf, and scroll motifs. A beautiful collector's item for lovers of fine Amsterdam silverwork. 
The set was crafted by the renowned Amsterdam silversmith Johannes Hendrikus Tarner (active between 1840 and 1879), who was specifically known for his high-quality silver serving pieces. The set is fully and clearly marked with the characteristic maker's mark (a spoon above the letters HT in a square).

  • Fineness: Second grade silver (hallmarked with the rampant Lion 2)
  • Minerva head: Features the letter A (assay office Amsterdam)
  • Year letter: W for the year 1856

The ginger serving set is in excellent, antique condition with a beautiful shine. The fine engravings and detailed reliefs on the handles and bowls are perfectly preserved.
