Silver commemorative spoon made by the silversmith W. Edeling from Schoonhoven, active from 1896 to 1924.

The spoon is hallmarked with the second grade mark, Minerva's head, master's mark WE and year letter s for 1902.

Also provided with pseudo-marks. This was done to make a 19th-century silver spoon look like an 18th-century one. There was a lot of demand for 18th-century Dutch silver, especially from England. Pseudo-marks were used to meet this demand.

These spoons have now also become antique again.

The spoon has a beautifully decorated handle and is crowned with Motherly Love. Caritas.

The stork of The Hague is engraved on the bowl of the spoon.

In good condition.

Weight: 56.2 grams. Length: 18 cm.
