Frisian silver commemorative spoon, Henry & Henry J. Lias, London, 1866

Frisian silver occasional spoon made by an unknown silversmith.

The spoon is probably 18th century and later imported to England. The following hallmarks were stamped there: City hallmark London, master hallmark: HLHL, date letter L for 1866, tax hallmark and content hallmark. Furthermore, the spoon was later re-hallmarked in the Netherlands with Z1 for 1st content silver.

The spoon has a shield-shaped crowning with putti around a crowned cartouche with a female figure underneath with her hand against the side of her head.

The spoon is in excellent condition.
