Very special gilded occasional spoon made by the silversmith Hoite Jans Lieuwma from Harlingen, active from 1775 to 1798. Several spoons from his hand have been handed down, but he also made table silver.
The spoon is crowned by Lady Fortuna. Lady Fortuna is a statue of a standing woman on a globe, wearing a pleated robe from her belly to her feet, with her left arm stretched out along her body and her right arm half-raised. She holds a sail bulging diagonally behind her with both hands.
The spoon is hallmarked with the master mark HL (Foot 457)
The back of the box is engraved with 1792.
There is a small fracture in one of Lady Luck's legs.
The spoon is gold plated.
