Silver commemorative spoon made by silversmith Evert Dieprijx from Hoorn. He was active from 1781.

The spoon is crowned by a female figure that represents trust with an anchor and a bird together symbolizing an unforced faith. The anchor stands for hope, the bird for supernatural freedom.

The spoon is hallmarked with the master hallmark ED, city hallmark Hoorn, content hallmark and year letter P for 1799/1800. The bowl is also provided with a test stroke.

The handle is beautifully worked with an ornament above the bowl with a figure with a child's head. This actually only occurs on West Frisian spoons.

Weight: 49.8 grams. Length: 18.5 cm.
