Silver birth spoon, P. Schmidt / Leeuwarden, 19th century

Silver birth spoon with a rider on horseback as the crowning achievement. Made by the silversmith P. Schmidt from Leeuwarden. Active from 1812 to 1846.

The spoon has a fine engraving on the handle.

Marked with master's mark PS in a diamond, year letter S for 1827, Minerva head and second content mark.

Engraved on the container with: 'Minke Riemers van der Meulen was born on June 2, 1827.
