Silver birth spoon, JJ Hiemstra, Makkum, 1826

Frisian silver birth spoon made by the silversmith Johannes Jelles Hiemstra from Makkum. Active from 1812 to 1831.

The spoon is crowned with Mother's Love.

The spoon is marked with master mark compass JH, 2nd grade mark, Minerva head and date letter R for 1826.

The bowl of the spoon is engraved with the following: 'Boekele Feekes de Boer was born on September 9, 1826'.
