Silver birth spoon made by the Frisian silversmith Jan Camphuis from Sneek. He was active from 1777 to 1804. He was a citizen-lieutenant, writes Voet.

The spoon is marked with the master's mark IC under a crown (Voet 1974 - 552).

The birth spoon is topped with a cow being milked.

The bowl of the spoon is engraved with the following text: 1801 the 13th of November at 4 o'clock on a Friday morning Auke Teunes was born.

Auke Teunes was baptized on November 22nd in Trins. He was a child of Teunis Eeltjes and Duwke Franens. (inventory number: DTB 885 of the Dutch Reformed Church IJsbrechtum, Tjalhuizum, Baptism 1707 -1811)

He died on July 28, 1817, at the age of 15.

The spoon is in good condition.
