Silver birth spoon, F. Baarda, Almenum / Franeker, 19th century

Silver birth spoon with Caritas (Mother's Love) as a crowning achievement. The spoon was made by F. Baarda who worked in Almenum and Sneek from 1826 to 1830.

The spoon is marked with master's mark: 59FB, 2nd grade mark, Minerva head and year letter t for 1828.

The bowl of the spoon is engraved: 'Akke Johannes Polder born April 20, 1814'.
