Frisian silver birth spoon from the end of the 18th century. Made by the silversmith Ate Jochums Offringa from Huizum, active from 1779.

The spoon has a double twisted handle (see Dutch small silver by Wttewaall, page 300) and is topped with a horse. Beautifully detailed design.

The spoon is marked with the master's mark bird (Voet C28) which was used by Ate Offringa.

The spoon is engraved with a worn text. "Tymens Overdijk" is still legible.

Traces of restoration are visible at the attachment of the bowl.
