18th century Frisian chatelaine consisting of scissors, pincushion and needle case made by among others:
Hook: made by Johannes Feddema from Leeuwarden. Active from 1780 to 1825. Dating of the hook ca. 1790. This mark is not included in the Elias Voet, but can still be attributed to him.
Pincushion: ST Reitsma from Lemmer Sneek, He was a silversmith from 1814 to 1841.
Needle case: Philippus Roorda (Voet 554) Active from 1757 to 1793
Scissors with small fracture: not hallmarked. Probably 18th century.
Chatelaines were worn by women with traditional costumes in Friesland.
The cast skirt hook is beautifully decorated with floral motifs.
The skirt hook is marked with the master mark IF under a crown.
The pincushion is marked with a master's mark R under hammer, Minerva head, second fineness mark and date letter J for 1818.
The needle case is marked with the master mark PR.
All parts hang on jasseron chains.
