Silver collection plate, Spain, 18th century

Antique silver collection plate from Spain. Thus the seller uses it in the church as a collection plate. A round hole has been closed on the side where a stick could have been placed.

It is a special bowl with a pearl edge and fully engraved all around with the Catalan text:

DNA GERONIMA PVIG I QVINTANA DE VILAHVR I DNA MARIA LVCIA PVIG I QVINTANA DE VILAHVR MARE I FILA DONAT I FET LO ANI 1810
And: Dona GERONIMA duiz de vilais ot 10 Ano 1683 or 1883

The bowl was donated at the time by the women above. The place Vilahur still exists.

The bowl has been marked with two different marks DC with a cross and the letters IP. Perhaps an early city hallmark from Girona, but otherwise it was not possible to trace the master blacksmith. There is an inscription on the edge of the bowl showing that the bowl could also date from 1683 and was later donated to the church in 1810.

The bowl is completely hammered out by hand.
