Silver cabaret, R. Abercomby, London, 1741

Heavy silver cabaret, made by Robert Abercomby from London. He was active from 1731 to 1745.

Robert Abercomby specialized in making large silver items, primarily trays and cabarets.

The cabaret (tray on feet) is beautifully decorated with scroll and floral motifs. (Georgian style)

It is hallmarked with the first standard mark, the city mark of London, maker's mark RA, and the date letter f for 1741.

A family crest with three coats of arms is engraved in the center of the cabaret.

The cabaret is robust and heavy, and in excellent condition.
