Silver brooch made from a book piece, AG Kijlstra / Drachten, 19th century

Silver brooch made from a book or marker. There was a book on both sides of the earring. Often the ear iron was also divided when the inheritance was divided.

The brooch is hallmarked with the sword for second grade silver and the master hallmark AK6 from the silversmith AG Kijlstra from Drachten. He worked from 1859 to 1917.

A base (safety) pin is attached to the back.
