Silver knitting needle holder, Friesland (?), 19th century

Early ^19th century knitting needle holder or knitting sheath with silver fittings. The knitting pin holder is made up of quill pens.

The holder has a silver point and an end piece with a hole and ring.

The right working needle was inserted into a knitting pin holder during knitting, so the needle no longer had to be held. The knitting sheath was mainly used as a support when knitting stockings.
